Important Medicare Open Enrollment Reminder for 2027
Medicare prescription drug plans can change each year, including their premiums, covered medications, pharmacy networks, and other out-of-pocket costs.
In 2027, there will also be a change to a temporary Medicare program that helped stabilize premiums for some stand-alone Part D prescription drug plans. Because of this and other annual plan changes, it will be especially important to review your current coverage before deciding whether to keep the same plan for 2027.
Medicare Open Enrollment runs October 15 through December 7, 2026. During this period, Medicare beneficiaries can compare their current coverage with the plans available for 2027.
When reviewing your options, consider more than the monthly premium. Be sure to check:
-
Whether your prescriptions are covered
-
What you will pay for your medications
-
Whether your preferred pharmacy is in the plan's network
-
The plan's deductible and other out-of-pocket costs
You don't have to make this decision alone.
