Strategic planning is a process in which an organization's leaders define their vision for the future and identify their organization's goals and objectives, creating a blueprint for the organization. Join our VEC consultants, who have many years of experience coaching nonprofit organizations in strategic planning, for an overview on developing this roadmap to deliver your organization’s mission.

This hands-on, in-person learning session will address the why and what of strategic planning and help you determine if your organization is ready to develop a strategic plan. We will outline the purpose of a strategic plan and address the preparation and key elements needed before planning can begin:

  • why should you develop a strategic plan
  • what do you need to do as an organization to get ready to plan
  • what resources are needed and identifying the core group to work on the plan.

This session is intended for organizational leaders who are new to strategic planning or for those who would like to revisit the strategic planning process.

This session is the first in a series addressing strategic planning. Join us on April 16 for How to Build a Strategic Plan followed by Implementation: Putting the Strategic Plan into Action in May.
