Implementation: Putting the Strategic Plan into Action

Now that you have completed your strategic plan, how do you utilize it and transform it into a living document? In this workshop, VEC consultants will show you how to translate long-term goals into short term actions and produce an operating plan that provides a roadmap to achieve your goals. Developing and implementing an action plan based on your high-level strategies will allow your organization to grow and be more resilient. We will review the elements that make for a successful action plan that is achievable with the people, money, and time available in your organization, including:

• Socializing the plan

• Building accountability

• Monitoring and evaluating the plan

• Measuring success

Discussion will include how to avoid points of failure and ways to make needed adjustments. We will demonstrate how to complete a sample template focused on resource allocation, timelines, accountability, and tracking your progress.

This session is intended for organizational leaders involved in strategic planning from organizations that already have a strategic plan or are in the process of developing a strategic plan.
