In The Spotlight : Rosean Stead

Rosean has been a volunteer for RSVP for over 7 years. In that time, she has been a part of our Homefriends Program, offering support to families of special needs children. In addition, Rosean likes to take on an occasional short-term project and has helped with open house days at the Woodmere Art Museum, and special events at Eagleville Hospital and Special Olympics.

She is a valued member of the Central Area Action Committee of RSVP, and offers her skills regularly with clerical support at the central office. She has volunteered at the Montgomery County Housing Authority and the Dominican Retreat House.

In 2004, Rosean received the prestigious Unsung Heroine Award from the Montgomery County Commission on Women and Families. Presently, Rosean is active in our Eldercare program. She has several “clients” at this time with varying needs. Rosean assists with grocery shopping, laundry, doctor visits, and friendly visiting. Of all her volunteer positions, this is the one Rosean finds most rewarding.

The people she visits genuinely appreciate her efforts, confiding in her and asking her advice. Her friendly and easy going manner are definitely a plus. We are glad to have Rosean as part of our RSVP volunteer team!
