In The Spotlight : Ralph T. Cohen

Ralph has been an RSVP volunteer since 1988.  He has participated in the APPRISE Program since it began in 1993. He frequently attends special meetings and training sessions to stay abreast of updates and changes in Medicare coverage. Ralph is happy to help clients with their Medicare questions at any time.

In addition to manning the phone at Aging and Adult Services, Ralph staffs tables and attends presentations at Health and Senior Fairs. As a member of the Beneficiary Liaison Council and the Xact staff, he joined other representatives to help veterans by presenting issues and problems relevant to Medicare beneficiaries.

In 1998, Ralph received the RSVP Volunteer of the Year award for his ongoing dedicated work with our organization.

He has been a part of our Eldercare Program, helping homebound seniors with household tasks and chores. He volunteered for two programs, TRIAD and SALT, who worked together with law enforcement to develop programs to enlighten elderly citizens on fraud and health issues. He is also a member of VEC, working with nonprofits to develop programs on retirement planning and continuing education.

Ralph is a part of the Action Committee, a group which supports the efforts of the Central field coordinator. He is an active volunteer recruiter for us as well, spreading the word about our great opportunities to volunteer.

He volunteers regularly at Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic. Ralph’s hobbies include reading, golfing, playing piano and researching securities. He is a devoted husband, father, grand father and great grandfather. We are thrilled to have been able to utilize his diverse and dedicated talents.
Thank you Ralph!
