Response
The RESPONSE program was developed in 2002 to provide volunteer
assistance with Homeland Security. This program was developed at the
request of the federal government and initiated through a Program of
National Significance grant through the Corporation for National and
Community Service. The program’s goal is to heighten senior awareness
and educate the public in “Preparedness for all Individuals and
Communities.” We cannot control natural disasters, emergencies
or unexpected attacks, but we can make plans to educate and protect
our families and ourselves.
Volunteers are offered opportunities to
serve within three Homeland Security initiatives: Disaster Preparedness
Training, Personal Safety
and Community Safety.
