Just A Few Of the Hundreds of testimonials from VEC Clients:

Throw Away Dogs

Thank you so much!  We couldn't be happier with the service that VEC provided to us. We needed direction and mentorship and VEC was right there to help us. From the moment I first contacted VEC, the volunteers that provided me with insight were amazing. I truly couldn't believe there was a service out there like this where the people really did care and want to help. As a nonprofit, I had no money to pay for services that VEC provided. It is a wonderful program and I am so honored to have been a part of it. Thanks! Carol Skaziak, President & Founder, Throw Away Dogs.

Widows and Widowers plus Friends

The entire VEC organization have proved invaluable in assisting us in setting up our Widows Widowers and Friends website. Their guidance has allowed our group to reach out to those who might not have had the ability to make a "connection" during a difficult period in their lives. VEC consultants went above and beyond to make our site "user friendly" for folks considering themselves technology challenged. We thank you for providing the technical support to assist us in our outreach mission. Barbara Colletti, Founder, Widows, Widowers and Friends.

Abington Health Foundation

A VEC consultant worked with our Research and Planning Committee for the past three years as we developed a comprehensive strategic plan that would set new direction for the future.  His help was quite valuable, for he brought a marketing perspective to our discussions, and this was a perspective that no one else in our group had. He was also a good sounding board for our myriad ideas and a great guide for us as we steadily zeroed in on our key goals and objectives and developed action plans for achieving them.  Our VEC was not just a member of our committee; he was a working member of our group.  He so easily took his place at the table and became far more than a consultant...he became a friend.  I would encourage any organization to tap into VEC services as a great resource for accessing high quality professional assistance. Gail Garber, First Vice President, Abington Healthcare Foundation.

Philadelphia Orchard Project

The Philadelphia Orchard Project (POP) is grateful for support received in 2014-15 from a Volunteer Executive Consultant (VEC) team through RSVP Montgomery County.  In quarterly meetings over the course of a year, VEC consultants met with POP staff and board members to advise on fundraising practices.  The focus of this consultation was on diversifying POP's income, which has always been highly dependent on foundation grants. The VEC team performed an evaluation of the organization including staff, board, and finances and provided direct advisement on expanding individual and corporate support.  In the year of consultation, POP's individual giving increased by 46%.  Other ideas discussed in meetings with the VEC team and since implemented include the addition of a blog to POP's website and the hiring of a part-time Development Associate.  Another positive outcome was one member of the VEC team joining POP's board following the project completion. Phil Forsyth, Executive Director, Philadelphia Orchard Project.

The Baby Bureau

I want to express my appreciation to RSVP for their assistance to The Baby Bureau in applying for our 501©3 status with the IRS in 2014. I especially want to thank VEC consultants for their expertise and guidance in the financial and legal areas throughout the application process.

The Baby Bureau provides gently used and new clothing to underserved babies in our community. We donate Baby Bundles of Clothing to local social service providers and they determine the need. We have dressed over 640 babies and counting…!!!  We received our 501©3 status in August of 2014 and have been growing by leaps and bounds ever since!! I am pleased to say that we have just received our first grant!! In gratitude, Fran Wasserman, Executive Director, The Baby Bureau.

 Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel

Rosh Hashanah Day2

We asked VEC to help us develop an engaging informative leadership development program. We were extremely pleased with the results of our interaction with VEC. The program exceeded our expectations and the participants were prepared to make a difference in our congregation. This type of program was always on our list of tasks to complete but when it happened every few years it lacked the kind of organization and content that we gained by engaging VEC. We were very pleased with the planning and implementation process.  I will gladly serve as a reference for your program. Brian Rissinger, Executive Director, Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel.

Expressive Path

I have been working hard for the past two years to get my organization, Expressive Path, off the ground. We provide afterschool arts programs for disadvantaged children. The VEC consultants took a genuine interest and have been excellent mentors to me! Their experience and knowledge was priceless. I had a speaking engagement and their input really impacted my presentation in a positive light. Their advice helped me rein in my programs from over 4 that did not make total sense, to 3 much more focused paths. They helped to ease some of my anxiety about my budget and it appears that our first budget is actually starting to come together. I cannot thank them enough for their time and support and look forward to learning as much as I can from these two kind and intelligent volunteers. VEC is such a great program and I am grateful to be a recipient of your services. Pamela Martin, Founder and Director, Expressive Path.
